HTTP 409 · Conflict

The request conflicts with the current state of the resource.

What it means

The request is well formed, but it cannot be applied to the resource as it stands: for example, binding an identity-provider subject that is already mapped to another operator.

What to do

Read the current state of the resource, resolve the conflict, then send the request again.
